Pyongyang, May 18 (KCNA) -- Choe Son Hui, foreign minister of the DPRK, on May 16 sent a congratulatory message to Sergei Viktorovich Lavrov upon his reappointment as foreign minister of the Russian Federation.
The message said that he has achieved remarkable successes by energetically conducting external political activities to defend the sovereign rights of Russia, ensure its territorial integrity and enhance its international position for a long period of assuming a heavy responsibility as foreign minister.
The relations of friendship and good-neighborliness between the DPRK and the Russian Federation greeted a new heyday thanks to the historic DPRK-Russia summit in September 2023 and trust and cooperation between the two countries in the bilateral relationship and the international arena are developing onto an unprecedentedly high level, it noted.
Expressing belief that the strategic and tactical cooperation between the diplomatic fields of the DPRK and Russia would grow stronger in the joint struggle for further consolidating the traditional DPRK-Russia friendship in line with the noble intentions of the top leaders of the two countries and safeguarding the national sovereignty and security and the global peace and stability, the message wished the Russian foreign minister greater success in his responsible work. -0-
