Every street and village across the country liven up since early in the morning today.

Laughter of frolicking children who are busy trying on their holiday dresses can be heard from any house, and the busy morning for preparation of holiday celebration is also spectacular.

But whenever the International Children’s Day comes around, the smiling faces of numerous parents forming a long line and craning their necks to get a better view of their cute children participating in sports games and entertainment can be seen anywhere. It is very unique.

The world people may have a lingering doubt as to why this country is so cheerfully celebrating the international holiday simply for children.

That is because children are looked up to as kings and queens under the socialist system of our country.

In our country, the work for children is given top priority among the state affairs and children’s day draws the attention of the whole country. As such senior officials of the Party and government, to say nothing of children’s parents, pay congratulatory visits to celebrate the holiday together with the children. And this has become one of the established customs.

This beautiful and sound virtue and national trait rarely to be seen in the world is not a simple gift of time.

The whole country has turned into a grand garden of love for future and kingdom of children where they are loved and held dear, thanks to resected Comrade Kim Jong Un who devotes his all for our children, instilling in the hearts of the entire people of the country his noble view on the future.  His view is that the whole country can become brighter when the laughter of our children free from any worry gets louder and tender loving care should be provided to the rising generation even when we are at a difficult time and we should move forward towards the future of communism with the might of that love.

The loss that the state suffers for the good of posterity is not the loss and the more work we do, the brighter the future of our country will be. This is the noble view on the posterity which is being embodied by our Party. From this, our Party provides warm care to the children. Now, our children are growing fit and strong in sharp contrast to the previous generations. Birth of many prodigies who can compete the cognitive skills at an international level also adds to the pleasure of our people.

However, not all the children on the earth are celebrating this day with same pleasure.

More than 70 years have passed since the International Children’s Day was proclaimed with an aim of ensuring the rights of world children to existence, healthcare and education and improving their living condition. However, countless children in many parts of the world are still suffering from indescribable misery and agony, being overawed by the social evils caused by the almighty money principle and the law of jungle which only pursues individual interests and pleasure.

With the soaring number of homeless people in the U.S. and other western countries, the number of children sleeping outdoors is also increasing at an exponential rate. In one country, a grandfather shot his own daughter and less-than-10-month-old granddaughter to death. Such horrible crimes are ensuing one after another. Cute children are dying at so young age without having a chance to give full display to their potentials.

With shootings and armed assaults running rampant across society, children feel reluctant to go to school, and some teenagers influenced by this corrupted lifestyle even become criminals killing people, much to the consternation of the international community.

Despite this, the rulers of U.S. and Western governments show no interest in improving the miserable situation of their children. Instead, they splash out on invading other countries, thus driving children of other countries to death and pains. Yet, they are all too ready to clamor for “children’s rights” and “humanitarianism” at international conferences on children, showing off their pockets filled with blood-stained money.

The progressive nature and reactionary nature of a society and the present and future of country are best reflected in the images of children.

The more precious the laughter of happy children is, the more work they would do to defend the grateful social system and the state, and to make it more prosperous. This is the determination of all parents on this land.
