The fourth and seventh plenary meetings of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea set forth the programme for the rural revolution in the new era in conformity with the requirements for the comprehensive development of socialism and clearly indicated the orientation and ways for implementing it.
The targets to be achieved in rural development are to raise the level of ideological consciousness of agricultural workers, rapidly develop agricultural productive forces and fundamentally change the living environment in the countryside.
As the new era of rural development is being ushered in, modern houses have been built at farms across the country in an original style to suit the characteristics of their areas and agricultural production has been put on a higher scientific basis. And agricultural workers are developing into masters of the civilized socialist countryside beyond recognition.
