This year one hundred and tens of pumping stations have been built in North Hamgyong Province.
In Kyongsong County advanced working methods were introduced and the construction of pumping stations was finished at a number of farms including the Ryongchon and Yombun farms in a short span of time. The county also remodelled the pumping stations built last year.
The city of Chongjin and Hwadae County gave precedence to supplying equipment and materials needed for establishing the irrigation and drainage systems. They built pumping stations according to standard designs through heated competition.
Yonsa, Kyongwon and Kyonghung counties pushed ahead with the construction of pumping stations and the waterway projects at the same time, making it possible to irrigate the tablelands affected by drought.
The city of Hoeryong and Kilju County direct efforts to the construction and repair of irrigation facilities while setting proper order of priority for the projects and organize manpower in a rational way.
The city and county irrigation offices ensure normal operation of the pumping equipment and power plants and control water in a scientific way, providing the fields with life-giving water.
