The Kangso District Committee of the women's union laid a foundation for revitalizing cocoon production by creating new mulberry fields of various hectares and planting more than 100 000 mulberry saplings of high-yielding species.
The Munchon-dong and Phogu-dong primary committees of the women's union in Chollima District sprayed mulberry trees with various growth accelerants to improve the quality of leaves and introduced rational methods of disinfection to carry out mulberry cultivation and silkworm-raising as planned.
Women's union members in Ssari-dong and Chonjin-dong have arranged silkworm rearing rooms in areas with favorable conditions for ventilation and sunshine and conducted silkworm-raising in a scientific way.
Members of the women's union in Taean District take measures to prevent damage by harmful animals while conducting well inspection and disinfection so as to prevent various diseases from occurring during the silkworm-raising period. -0-
