Pride of Solid Farmers

The Separate Sub-workteam No. 1 of the Hoehyon Farm in Songwon County is well known as a group of solid farmers not only to the farm but also to the county. Each member of the sub-workteam actively helps and leads one another forward.

Once, they realized that a member of the sub-workteam was worried because she hadn’t repaired her house.

Having lost her husband long ago, she had sent her eldest son to the post of military service and was living with her younger one who was a middle school student.

Other members, who had always helped her with sincerity, secured materials necessary for her house repair and visited her.

Saying to the owner of the house that they were members of one family, they redid the roof and fence within a day.

It was not all.

Ri Jong Sil, head of the sub-workteam, stood in the van to display the collectivist spirit and the members often helped those who were busy with family affairs.

Thanks to such collectivist atmosphere of helping and caring for each other, the sub-workteam completed rice-transplantation before others and takes the lead in the immediate farm work without speeding down.

Even after Scores of Years

People call Ham Jong Ju and Kim Yon Hwa, a couple living in the township of Changdo County, those blessed with many children.

They have tens of sons, daughters and grandchildren.

They adopted parentless children in the days of the country’s hardship and today those children have become fathers and mothers.

Now that their children have fully grown up, Ham and Kim often think of benevolent people who helped them with kindred affection. Among them is Han Chol Jin, an official of the Taehung Management Office in the county.

Han got to know them twenty-odd years ago. When he had been demobilized from military service, he heard from his father about the laudable deeds of Ham and Kim and was so touched.

He decided to help them with sincerity like his father.

Scores of years have passed since then but he often visits them till today.

He visited Ham again on the birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung last April. He learnt in detail about their health and living and handed over the children’s clothes and sweets and cakes to Ham.

Looking at him, devoting love and affection for scores of years, Ham and Kim keenly felt once again the genuine features of our society.

Unchangeable Feelings

In recent days, officials and members of the primary committee of the women’s union of Songyo-dong No. 2 in Songyo District, have a dialogue with Han Hye Gyong living in Hwawon-dong No.2 in Hwasong District by telephone almost every day.

Heartily congratulating Han who moved into a new house associated with the Party’s love, they used to request Han to inform them of the difficult problems arising in her life.

They had a reason for forming a special relation with Han.

To tell the truth, Han had lived in Songyo-dong No.2, Songyo District some days ago.

At that time, the primary officials of the women’s union in the dong and members had positively supported her life calling her family a servicepersons’ family which made all children stand at the post for defence of the country.

They frequently called on Han to create enjoyable atmosphere lest she should lead a lonely life, while devoting particular feelings to her.

Therefore, sometimes Han read a letter from her children to the women’s union members to share joy with them.

Indeed, they were unforgettable persons like her family members.

Their love and feeling for Han that have continued until now is the noble morals that can be seen only in our socialist society, the flower garden of good virtue.
