Fish-breeding units in North Phyongan Province are working hard to implement the policy of the Workers' Party of Korea on protecting and multiplying the marine resources of the country in a planned and substantial way.
Thaechon County created a spawning bed to boost the production of fry including mandarin fish, carp and goldfish and stocked the rivers, lakes and reservoirs in the county with those fishes. Tongnim County distributed breeding ponds according to the kinds of fish and the stages of their growth and ensured water temperature and oxygen properly in accordance with sci-tech requirements, raising the living rate of fry.
The Cholsan County Breed-Fish Farm has steadily improved the technical knowledge and skills of its employees and introduced efficient hatching method, bringing about a good result in the fry production. Other fish-breeding units in the province have directed efforts to putting the fry production process on a modern and scientific basis and as a result, stocked the rivers, lakes and reservoirs with more than 1.8 billion little fish and fry this year.
