Pyongyang, July 19 (KCNA) -- An Asia-Pacific regional joint memorial meeting, "President Kim Il Sung , prominent leader of the human cause of independence", took place in Katmandu on July 7 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of demise of President Kim Il Sung . It was co-sponsored by the Asia-Pacific Regional Committee for Friendship and Solidarity with the Korean People, the Nepalese National Committee for honoring the memory of President Kim Il Sung and Comrade Kim Jong Il and the Nepal-Korea Friendship Association.

Present there were personages of the Asia-Pacific Regional Committee, political parties and organizations of different countries including Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Australia, Britain and Ecuador, and members of the Juche idea study organizations and organizations for friendship and solidarity with the Korean people.

The chairman of the Nepalese National Committee for honoring the memory of President Kim Il Sung and Comrade Kim Jong Il made a keynote report at the meeting.

The human history produced many great men, but there was no such great man as President Kim Il Sung well-renowned for his long leadership, great exploits and personality, the reporter said.

The report noted that the President dedicated himself to the liberation of the oppressed working masses and the creation of a new life and performed the exploits to be conveyed century after century.

It praised him for making a great contribution to the building of an independent and sovereign state and the cause of global independence against imperialism, stressing that the President was boundlessly revered by the Korean people and other progressive peoples of the world for his energetic work for global independence and peace and prosperity of mankind.

Then followed speeches.

Announced at the meeting was an appeal to the world peace-loving people by the Asia-Pacific Regional Committee for Friendship and Solidarity with the Korean People.

The appeal said that the meeting highly praised the sacred revolutionary careers and exploits of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and the personality of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un as a peerlessly great man who is demonstrating the valiant spirit of Juche Korea, an independent power.

It called upon the organizations for friendship and solidarity with the Korean people in various countries and the peace-loving peoples of the world to give wide publicity to the reality of the DPRK, a leading guardian of independence and peace, in which a series of remarkable events and changes to be highlighted in the world political trend as well as in the development of the state are taking place, and extend full support and solidarity to the just cause of the Korean people.

A message to Kim Jong Un was adopted at the meeting. -0-
