Pyongyang, July 22 (KCNA) -- The railway sector of the DPRK is speeding up the work to minimize damage to be caused by disastrous abnormal weather and ensure the successful operation of major freight transport trains.
The Ministry of Railways removes the shortcomings while examining the places in which measures have been taken to prevent damage. It also keeps necessary forces on standby to conduct the emergency operation in case of damage.
Officials of the ministry in charge of the transport control, in close contact with regional railway bureaus, are ensuring the successful arrival of the main freight transport and passenger trains at their destinations on the basis of real-time weather forecasts.
All railway bureaus and branches strengthen the observation forces along railways to maintain their safety by remedying vulnerable objects.
And efforts are directed to finishing the ongoing railway reinforcement project.
Meanwhile, stations are checking the freight trains' waterproofing and eliminating the shortcomings. -0-
