Rodong Sinmun on Phase of Upturn in Overall National Development

Pyongyang, July 23 (KCNA) -- It is the DPRK's traditional mode of development to bolster up driving force and steadily achieve everything desired by dint of it, says Rodong Sinmun Tuesday in an article. The new heyday of overall efflorescence and the phase of upturn for national prosperity would be unthinkable apart from the radical growth of the driving force which means the political and economic potentials of the country, the article says, adding: The phase of upturn in comprehensive national development is a proud picture drawn by the political and ideological might of the DPRK, its inviolable power of single-minded unity. Political and ideological might is the most powerful might of a country and the first motive force for its overall development. All the victories and successes recorded in gold letters in the DPRK's history of development are ascribable to its political and ideological might which no other country in the world can have or imitate. As all its people are firmly united with one ideology, will, virtue and affection and are prepared and awakened politically and ideologically, it is possible to overcome any difficulties and accomplish any great cause. The phase of upturn in comprehensive national development is a lively situation created by the might of the self-supporting economy, the material and technical potentials of the DPRK. The self-supporting economy of the DPRK is the material foundation for steadily maintaining the political independence of Juche Korea and a reliable guarantee for bolstering up the self-reliant defence capability. Thanks to its dependable foundation for self-support, the DPRK could always choose its path forward according to its own view and faith, reliably defend its dignity and sovereignty and victoriously advance despite all threats and twists. Circumstances and conditions of the revolutionary struggle may change along with the advance of socialist construction, but there will be no change in the principled stand of our Party, state and people to open up a broad avenue toward prosperity by dint of self-reliance and self-support. The article calls upon all the people to dynamically usher in a new era of comprehensive national development with their spirit and potentials that have been remarkably strengthened, united around the Party Central Committee.
