One of the wheels of revolution means the role of women in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
The great leader Kim Il Sung enabled the Korean women to lead a proud life, who couldn't go out of doors properly for a long time due to the feudal fetters.
Deeply seeing through the importance of solution of the women's problem long ago, he regarded it as a crucial task of the democratic revolution to liberate the women socially after liberation and promulgated the Law on Sex Equality on July 30, Juche 35(1946).
As a result, the Korean women could take part in political, economic and cultural life with the same right as men and become a powerful force for social development.
Whenever opportunities permitted, Kim Il Sung said the women are pillars pushing one of the wheels of revolution and that as a pushcart with one wheel can't roll, so the social development cannot be made only with the role of men. Like this, he attached importance to the role of women in the revolution and construction.
Ri Chun Sil, Manageress of the Moranbong District General Tailor's Shop, says:
"Long ago, the great leader Kim Il Sung took all kinds of social measures for the women to conduct social activities to their hearts' content, freed from the heavy burden of housekeeping.
So, a lot of women have grown to be labour innovators, officials and heroines in their workplaces, leaving clear traces on the road of development of the DPRK.
The women in our country have no family and social restrictions at all under the socialist policy and I am also working as senior official of a unit. They are now leading an independent and creative life to the full under the concern, protection and benefits of the state and the society."
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un shows all his love and affection to the women, saying they are a powerful force for state and social development and it is impossible to think about the family and society and furthermore, about the future of the country apart from the role of the women.
He had a wonderful concert given on the occasion of the March 8 International Women's Day and makes great painstaking efforts for the women so that they can become beautiful flowers of the country, life and family.
The Korean women are enjoying a worthwhile life under his care.
