The Chongsan Farm in Kangso District has a great pride; one-fourth of the agricultural workers of the farm is university graduates.
All of the agricultural officials, work-team heads, technical experts and sub-workteam heads are university graduates, and there are many technicians including agricultural engineers and mechanists in the sub-workteams.
They play a big role in doing farm work as requirement of science and technology.
In particular, Jang Chol Gun, a technical expert of the work-team No.10, is famed for high sense of responsibility for tending and cultivating crops.
He fixed the mixed proportion of herbicide and sand rationally suited to the land of argillaceous sand, thus raising the effectiveness of weeding to the maximum.
As a result, the work-team used no labor in the weeding of its rice paddy and reduced the amount of agrochemicals use.
And Cha Kyong Hui, a technical expert of the work-team No.6, and Kim Un Suk working at the agricultural sci-tech learning space also are at the van of scientific farming.
Cha, who is loved and respected by the masses, became the technical expert this year.
She set the examples in cultivating the nutrient cold-bed rice seedling in conformity with the scientific and technical requirement.
Kim Un Suk made a responsible analysis of various raw materials to be used in producing substitute agrochemicals, thus greatly contributing to lowering the cost and heightening the effect of extermination of the noxious insects.
They are not all.
The farm’s university graduates are playing an important role in the struggle for bringing about rich harvest by dint of science despite of unfavorable conditions and the ranks of graduates are increasing one after another.
In this regard, Yun Chun Hwa, manageress of the farm, tells proudly that the university graduates are striving to raising their ability as required by the developing reality.
As there are the reliable units of technicians filled with enthusiasm for reaping bumper harvest in Chongsan Plain annually, the future of the farm will be rosier.
