Multipurpose Success

One June day in Juche 105(2016), the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un visited the remodeled Pyongyang Cornstarch Factory.

The following happened when he looked round the candy production process.

While looking at the production line of candy, he said with pleasure that the equipment was excellent and this was just a technical revolution.

At that time an official of the factory told him that those were homemade equipment.

Listening to him, the General Secretary was very satisfied with it and said that if factories and enterprises made strenuous efforts to localize the equipment and modernize them, they were able to achieve a great success in reforming the people’s ideology and technical reconstruction as well as the improvement of production and living environment, repeatedly praising that the factory has many prides.

His saying made the officials think that the struggle to realize the localization and modernization is not merely technical and practical affairs, but an important political issue that led to ideological remoulding, technological reconstruction and environmental improvement.

That day the officials were convinced once again that they could dynamically pave a shortcut to the development of the unit when they hold fast to the banner of localization and modernization.

Intention He Deeply Implanted

Once he visited again the Wonsan Leather Shoes Factory and gave precious instructions to realize the localization of raw materials and other materials.

It was when he dropped in at the shoemaking shop after stressing the need to push ahead with the work for finding out all of what the imported materials and raw materials were among those needed for the production of leather shoes and localizing them.

While looking at the workers’ working figures for a long time, he suddenly held a female student’s leather shoe on a line to touch a snap hook and asked an official of the factory if it was imported one.

Being informed from him about that, the respected General Secretary earnestly told him that the factory should make some parts needed in the production of shoes by itself.

After carefully looking into leather shoes on the inspection and zipper, he said that when he visited the Mangyongdae Revolutionary Site Souvenir Factory days ago, the factory was making all kinds of zippers, inspiring him with confidence that if the quality of the zippers is improved, the zipper problem necessary for the production of leather shoes, too, will be solved.

That day he stressed that every sector and unit should produce even one product in a diversified way on the highest qualitative level that can win popularity among the people with world-level insight, and thus make the people keenly feel the pride and self-confidence that ours is the best and the advantages and might of our-style socialism.

Hearing his instructions, the officials made a firm resolve to provide the people with our famous products and goods made with domestic raw materials and other materials by giving fuller play to the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance.
