Pyongyang, September 13 (KCNA) -- The Social Confederation of Koreans in Uzbekistan held a meeting on September 7 to celebrate the 76th founding anniversary of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
Present at the meeting held in Tashkent were Chairman Ko Tae Chun and members of the confederation.
Ko Tae Chun made a speech at the meeting.
He noted that President Kim Il Sung won victory in the war of aggression ignited by the U.S. imperialists within two years since the birth of the DPRK, restored the ruined country by dint of self-reliance, believing in the strength of the people and fully demonstrated the DPRK's dignity and might before the whole world as a country independent in politics, self-supporting in the economy and self-reliant in national defence.
He said that the DPRK could reliably defend its dignity and sovereignty, despite the decades-long moves of the U.S.-led imperialist allied forces to isolate and stifle it, entirely thanks to the outstanding and wise leadership of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il .
The DPRK is now greeting the greatest heyday of its development under the guidance of the respected Marshal Kim Jong Un , he stressed. -0-
