Substantial Production Method of Preventive Medicine Established

Researchers of the Microbiological Institute of the Academy of Medical Science settled sci-tech problems arising in the development of preventive medicines, thus establishing a method for producing preventive medicines capable of increasing duration of immunity and sharply reducing the amount of vaccination.

This is an applied sci-tech success helpful in developing preventive medicine with less side effects and long duration of immunity.

The research group has directed big efforts to the development of preventive medicines for several years to meet the intrinsic requirements of socialist medicine which gives priority to prevention before the onset of illness.

In the process of making repeated experiments to overcome the shortcomings discovered in the previous medicines, they found a new way for improving the effectiveness of the drug and have intensified the study while reading advanced literature.

As a result, scientific and technological problems arising in raising immunogenicity were fully solved.

Effective Diagnostic Agents Made

Medical workers of the Kim Man Yu Hospital in the DPRK have made good success in treating patients by studying the rational method of making diagnostic agents.

Yun Son Hui, section chief of the hospital, and other medical workers have conducted research for making agents necessary for diagnosing the relevant disease for several years.

Having found it difficult to make an early diagnosis with the diagnostic agents that have been used from the past period, Yun Son Hui volunteered to make a new diagnostic agent.

There were difficulties in the research, but they did not stop their search, and finally, they were able to make agents capable of making diagnosis without expensive measuring and testing equipment.

Those diagnostic agents overcame the shortage of resources by using the genetic engineering method and drew experts’ attention for their possible early diagnosis.

The research achievement was registered as a national sci-tech success as it contributes to solving the sci-tech problems arising in raising the average life of the population, the rate of epidemic prevention and other major public health indices onto the advanced level.

New-type Medical Appliance Developed

Medical workers of the Pyongyang Maternity Hospital have developed a new-type medical appliance using electromagnetic wave.

Pak Chang Sok, head of the Koryo obstetrics and gynecology department, and other medical workers of the department conducted researches on treating chronic gynecopathy of high prevalence rate and recurrence rate with impulse electric stimulus using modulated wave.

Thanks to their efforts, they developed the medical appliance able to raise the effectiveness of the medicine in close connection with the relevant unit.

They received a state certificate of introduction of sci-tech achievements.

Level of Scientific Diagnosis and Treatment Heightened

Pyongyang University of Medicine has put efforts into manufacturing the medical appliances, thus offering the guarantee for heightening the effectiveness in treatment in the field of plastic surgery.

The teachers and research group of the plastic surgery department of the Clinical Medicine Faculty No.2 buckled down to developing three-dimensional skin surface analysis system with ambition to keep their feet firmly on our land and outpace the world.

Though their target was high and task was vast, they, without hesitation, took active parts in developing program while learning and teaching each other in close connection with the relevant unit. As a result, the analysis system was developed and thus the level of scientific diagnosis and treatment was heightened.
