National Exhibition of IT Successes Closes in DPRK

Pyongyang, September 26 (KCNA) -- The 2024 National Exhibition of IT Successes closed with due ceremony at Kim Il Sung University on Wednesday. Presented to it were the IT successes conducive to turning the national economy into knowledge-based economy. During the exhibition, there were artificial intelligence program contest, programming contest and computer virus vaccine program contest, where successes and experience of advanced units were appreciated and a brisk exchange for introducing advanced technology was made. Kim Il Sung University, Kim Chaek University of Technology, Chollima Tile Factory and other units were selected as the ten IT model units in 2024, and Pyongyang Kwangmyong IT Company, Puksae Electronic Trade Company, Achim Computer Joint Venture Company and others as the ten best IT enterprises in 2024. The products tangibly contributing to putting the national economy on an IT basis and improving the people's living standards were selected as the top ten IT products in 2024. Diplomas, prize banners and certificates were awarded to the ministries and national agencies and provincial, city and county people's committees which took the lead in developing the IT industry, and to exemplary units and participants in the IT project. Present at the closing ceremony were Vice-Premier Jon Sung Guk, Department Director of the C.C., Workers' Party of Korea Choe Tong Myong, President Kim Sung Jin of the State Academy of Sciences, officials concerned and officials and working people of the units which presented their products. Ju Yong Il, minister of IT Industry, made a closing address.
