Schoolchildren of Japanese Society, Tundra of Human Rights

Pyongyang, October 1 (KCNA) -- Shortly ago, the Japanese Tokyo Shimbun said that a new term begins at many schools from tomorrow. It noted that today is the day with the greatest possibility of danger in which pupils may commit suicide. It said that if a school makes pupils like to die, they should not allow to go to it.

The opening day of the school term to be full of pleasure and hope serves as an occasion of nightmare encouraging pupils to commit suicide in the Japanese society.

The schools, inviolable places in which children should learn to their heart’s content and bring their abilities into bloom, have turned into "torture grounds" where children suffer from intolerable mental and physical pain.

Schools do not take the stand to prevent violence and maltreatment and protect children but ignore and encourage them.

One can know well the poor situation of the Japanese schools only through a suicide case of a schoolgirl of a middle school in Hyogo Prefecture that had been proven some years ago.

The schoolgirl submitted to the school even a document to complain of her distress and ask for the school's help in order to get rid of the torture from an extracurricular club.

However, the school turned down her request by tearing the document into pieces and had connived at violence, leading her to commit suicide.

It also did not made a proper survey of her death but made public some contents, covering the motive of her miserable suicide for several years.

In February, a schoolgirl of a middle school in Nagasaki Prefecture committed suicide after writing her will to cry for maltreatment in the campus. This tragedy was discovered through media's coverage in April.

From January to June this year, 229 students of primary, middle and high schools in Japan committed suicides, exceeding the number of suicide cases in the same period of last year.

Whenever such a tragic fact related to children is open to the public, the Japanese authorities often promise "improvement" while talking about "gigantic" plans such as "strategy for future of children".

But the plight of children is getting worse owing to social evils and they abandon even their dream of learning and choice death.

The reality goes to prove that the "organizer" of the tragic crime of leading children to commit suicide is none other than the Japanese authorities and social system.

Japan in which the jungle law is rampant even in the sacred campus is, indeed, a tundra of human rights without future. -0-
