DPRK Cabinet Hosts Reception for Women Footballers

Pyongyang, October 3 (KCNA) -- The DPRK Cabinet hosted a reception at the Okryu Restaurant here on Wednesday in welcome of the DPRK women's football team which won the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup. Present there were Premier Kim Tok Hun, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and chairman of the National Sports Guidance Committee, Minister of Physical Culture and Sports Kim Il Guk, Secretary General of the Football Association Sin Yong Chol, players and coaches of the women's football team and their families, officials in the sports field and officials concerned. Kim Tok Hun made a congratulatory speech there. He expressed belief that the players who displayed the bright prospect of the DPRK's women's football would win victory after victory in international games, firmly holding the Asian and world championship title in the future, too. Player Choe Il Son in her reply speech pledged to make greater successes in international games by shedding the sweat of patriotism in training grounds with no satisfaction from the recent success.
