In Front of Hero Lathe

Ri Tong Gyu works at the Lathe Workteam of the Machine Workshop No.1 of the Ryongsong Machine Complex as the chief operator of the large lathe which was awarded the title of the Labor Hero.

Whenever Ri stands at the hero lathe, he remembers his father. His father worked at the complex for a long period as an innovator. When he became a worker of the complex his father earnestly said to him:

"We, people of Ryongsong, did not know any bargaining and complaint about conditions before the task given by the Party nor allow negative practices. It is the disposition and spirit of the people of Ryongsong to fully implement the task at any cost. So, you should successfully carry forward the baton."

Keeping deep in mind his father’s request, Ri Tong Gyu has devoted his wisdom and zeal to his job.

He steadily improved his skill remembering his father’s saying that there is nothing impossible if one has pure loyalty to the Party.

After a long while, he became a skilled operator capable of processing any parts of equipment.

Last year when the working class of Ryongsong created the Chollima spirit in the new era, he introduced several technical innovations so that he could make positive contributions to fully implementing the task given by the Party.

Now he works hard in front of the hero lathe redoubling his will to firmly carry forward the tradition of loyalty, tradition of patriotism, inherited by his father’s generation.

Uncommon Pride as Builder of Hydropower Plant

Kim Pyong Ho works at the Kangdong Hydroelectric Construction Complex as a technician with uncommon pride. It is associated with the fact that his family members including his father and brothers dedicated their all to the hydropower stations erected by the construction complex.

Kim Pyong Ho has performed distinguished feats while participating in the construction of the Thaechon Power Station, Namgang Power Station, Ryesonggang Youth Power Stations No.1 and No.2, Naephyong Power Station No.3, etc. for nearly 40 years.

Sometimes, when he became weak, his father encouraged him saying that the builders of the hydropower plants regard devoting themselves to the job for the country as the biggest pride.

So, bearing in mind his father’s saying he has devoted his clear conscience to all the construction sites of power stations.

He was honored to take part in the celebrations of the 75th founding anniversary of the Workers’ Party of Korea, have a souvenir picture taken with the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un and receive high state commendation.

Today, he is invariably going on the patriotic way with the ardent pledge to add light, heat and strength to the motherland with his honest efforts.

Green Woods Tell

"Keep in mind! Job of a forest ranger is to be root of the prosperous motherland."

Kim Ju Chol, forest ranger in Sambong-ri of the Thaethan County Forest Management Station, has always recollected this request given by his father when he became the ranger.

In fact, Kim Ju Chol worried that he would fail to make the mountainous area stripped bare during the period of Arduous March into green woods. However, he optimistically worked hard with the will to beautify the native hometown inherited by the preceding generation including his father.

He buckled down to the work for building a tree nursery together with forest patrollers and sloping land users. Then they planted various species of trees including pine nut trees and larch trees in the area in charge.

Neighboring villagers moved by his devotion turned out for planting trees. Every year they planted a lot of trees of economic values such as large chestnut trees. So, the mountains in Sambong-ri turned into green woods which tell people about his devotion for the forest.
