Pyongyang, October 7 (KCNA) -- Amid the high enthusiasm of agricultural officials and workers in the DPRK, winter wheat and barley sowing has been completed in the main across the country.
South Phyongan Province finished sowing winter wheat and barley at the right time and in a proper way even under the conditions in which several farming work is simultaneously conducted.
North Phyongan Province improved soil fertility by spreading a lot of organic fertilizer to suit the increasing area of wheat and barley cultivation and expanded the success in sowing.
North Hwanghae Province raised the proportion of mechanization and introduced advanced farming methods to ensure the seed-sowing in a scientific and technological way.
Farms in Pyongyang Municipality pushed ahead with farming, taking into account the biological characteristics of crops and soil integrity.
Officials and agricultural workers in Jagang and North Hamgyong provinces and Nampho and Kaesong Municipalities, too, finished the immediate sowing of winter wheat and barley while concentrating their efforts on harvesting and threshing. -0-
