The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un sent a message of greeting to Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, president of the Russian Federation, on October 7.

The message said:

My closest Comrade Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin,

I send you heartfelt and warm congratulations on your birthday.

You have made remarkable successes in the course of resolutely defending the sovereignty, security, development and interests of your country and building a powerful Russia with energetic and wise leadership by having assumed a heavy and sacred duty for the prosperity of Russia and promotion of the wellbeing of its people for a long time, thus enjoying their boundless trust and support.

I am still recollecting with deep emotion the days when we developed the traditional DPRK-Russia relations into an invincible alliance and eternal strategic relationship, based on the common ideal of independence and justice, and deepened our friendship by declaring to the world together with you the establishment of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries in Pyongyang on last June 19.

Meetings and comradely ties to be continued between us in the future will make a positive contribution to further consolidating the eternal foundation of the DPRK-Russia friendship and strategic and cooperative relations, which have been put on a track of fresh comprehensive development, and to defending regional and global peace and international justice.

I believe you will as ever lead great Russia along the road of victory and glory full of vigour.

Availing myself of this opportunity, I reaffirm our full and disinterested support and solidarity with the just cause of the Russian army and people.

I will toast your good health and bigger success in your work, congratulating you on your birthday here in Pyongyang together with my friends.

Pyongyang will always stand by Moscow.

To my closest comrade.
