The ENT and HN Department of the Moranbong District Hospital in Pyongyang is famous for the high skills of its medical workers.
The department is visited by many inhabitants in other areas, not to mention those in the district. It is because its medical workers are so good at diagnosing and treating that they seldom refer their patients to upper-level hospitals.
Aware that sincerity for the patients would be meaningless if it is not combined with ability, Choe Hye Yong, chief of the department, made efforts to raise her practical ability.
In the course of this, she developed a new method of treating chronic rhinosinusitis by a non-surgical method and also updated several medical devices including laryngoscopy.
While making exacting demand on the members of her department, she ensured that they steadily improved their practical abilities through technical study sessions.
The improvement of their abilities has resulted in the completion of a method that can treat inflammatory diseases of the ear and nasal mucosa with Koryo medicines. And the department has upgraded its medical equipment, bringing about an improvement of the quality of medical services.
Many patients who come to the hospital express their sincere thanks to the medical workers for their scientific and kindly medical services.
