Pyongyang, October 10 (KCNA) -- Following are major news items and articles in leading newspapers of the DPRK on Thursday:
- On the occasion of the 79th founding anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea,
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un received a message of greeting from the general secretary of the C.C., Lao People's Revolutionary Party who is president of the Lao People's Democratic Republic.
International bodies and many foreign political parties, personages, and overseas families related to the revolutionary activities of President Kim Il Sung and Korean residents in China sent floral baskets to the statues of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il on Mansu Hill.
Members of the leadership body of the WPK Central Committee visited the Revolutionary Site for Party Foundation.
Many officials, working people, youth and students have visited the North Hamgyong provincial revolutionary museum.

There was a men's volleyball game between the Kigwancha Team and the Sobaeksu Team and performances were given by the art squads of the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League and the Central Committee of the Socialist Women's Union of Korea.
- Editorials and articles are dedicated to the founding anniversary of the WPK.
- The Kangan Farm of Unpha County and the Wolam Farm of Kumchon County in North Hwanghae Province reaped rich harvest and had the year-end account settlement.
