Not long ago, we visited the neighborhood unit No.17 of Mundong-ri, Pukchong County which was awarded the title of the unit exemplary in establishing a socialist cultured way of life. We admired at the neat and tidy dwelling houses built in sunny place, fine road and fruit trees surrounding houses.
The head of the neighborhood unit told us that the villagers never feel contented in the work to spruce up the village. She told a story about the fact held a few days ago.
The members of the neighborhood unit sat together to discuss the issue for continuously glorifying the honor of the exemplary unit.
The head of the unit called upon all its members to turn out as one for sprucing up the village in the autumn clean-up month.
Then the villagers vied with each other to do a lot of work.
Not only housewives but also householders turned out for the work.
The village is also famous for its amity in harmony. All the villagers share joy and sorrow with each other.
They always renew the appearance of the village with deep attachment to their native place.
Therefore, the villagers proudly say to visitors: "This is our village."
