The ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea gave a reception at the Taedonggang Diplomatic Club on the 11th on the occasion of the 76th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the DPRK and Russia.

Invited to the reception were DPRK Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui and officials concerned.

Present there were staff members of the Russian embassy.

Ambassador Alexandr Matsegora made a speech at the reception.

He said Russia and the DPRK celebrate the anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations as a common holiday every year and this anniversary has been specially decorated, and continued:

Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, President of the Russian Federation, and Kim Jong Un, President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, signed the Treaty on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the DPRK and the Russian Federation on June 19.

We are witnesses of seeing how fast the Russia-DPRK cooperation is developing in different fields. One of the important goals of the treaty is to pool efforts to keep improving the people's well-being. The treaty provides conditions for rapid development of mutual cooperation in the fields of education, public health, science and technology and agriculture.

Next, Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui made a speech.

She said the traditional relations of friendship between the DPRK and Russia have greeted a new heyday thanks to the most genuine comradely relations established between the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un and the respected President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. The three DPRK-Russia summit meetings became historic events that clearly proved the truthfulness of friendship and unity between the two countries and developed the DPRK-Russia relations into comprehensive strategic partnership and invincible relations of comrade-in-arms, she stressed.

She also said it is a consistent stand of the DPRK to permanently strengthen and develop the invincible DPRK-Russia friendly relations through many-sided and close support and solidarity with the Russian Federation on the basis of the new treaty between states true to the lofty intention of the top leaders of the two countries.

She expressed the belief that the Russian army and people will surely win victory in accomplishing the sacred cause of defending the sovereign rights and security of the country and building an independent multi-polarized world in single-hearted unity around President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin.
