On Oct. 14, 1945 the then Pyongyang Public Playground at the foot of Moran Hill, now occupied by Kim Il Sung Stadium, was crowded with people as a Pyongyang city mass rally took place there to welcome President Kim Il Sung on his triumphal return to the homeland after achieving the historic cause of national liberation.

In his historic speech made at the mass rally the President ardently appealed to the whole nation to positively contribute to the nation building, those with strength giving strength, those with knowledge giving knowledge and those with money giving money. He said that all the people who truly love their country, nation and democracy should unite closely and build an independent and sovereign democratic state.

Unity is quintessence of patriotism, and patriotism is unthinkable apart from unity.

With insight that the people’s unity with patriotism is a source of inexhaustible strength, the President unfolded a new history of revolutionary unity from the first period when he set out on the road of revolution and indicated that the key to building a new Korea as soon as possible is to achieve such unity. Herein lies the greatness of the President as a peerlessly great politician.

Our people have always remembered the patriotic appeal of the President for nearly 80 years.

The sacred history of our country which has won only victory and glory by dint of unity is being firmly inherited as we hold another peerless patriot in high esteem.

The respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un, at the 9th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, called for overcoming difficulties by dint of unity and patriotism and set forth the slogan "Let us unite with patriotism!"

At the reception hosted in celebration of the successful launch of the reconnaissance satellite "Malligyong-1" held in November last year the respected General Secretary said that all the people should be armed and united with patriotism, and that he always maintains the slogan "Let us unite with patriotism!"

It is the noble intention of the respected General Secretary that the unity based on patriotism is indeed the most powerful strength and the best strategy which make us achieve brilliant development and leap forward and realize our far-reaching ideal and ambition.

Our people have overcome by dint of unity and patriotism the vicious provocative maneuvers of the hostile forces, grand natural disasters and the unprecedented public health crisis, a great upheaval in our country since the founding of the DPRK, and, with its force majeure, dynamically ushered in a new era of overall rejuvenation of our state while creating new heroic legends of Juche Korea and spirit of new era under the wise leadership of the respected General Secretary. No severe hardships can check the vigorous advance of our state.

Let us unite with patriotism! This is just the banner of progress and unity our great Party holds aloft in the historic struggle for the overall rejuvenation of our state.

Invincible is our cause advancing by dint of patriotism and unity.
