As provinces, cities and counties are conducting more energetic activities to consolidate the foundations for building materials production by relying on their raw materials and resources, finishing materials production bases have been built or expanded.
The Kyongam Tile Factory has been built in North Hwanghae Province as a comprehensive tile producer.
The province built a new factory that mass-produces different sizes of quality tiles after completing its design on a high level to meet the development trend of the building materials industry and putting main stress on equipping it with modern production facilities.
North Hamgyong Province has turned the Chongjin Wood-processing Factory into a comprehensive wood-processing production base, thus making it possible to more satisfactorily supply processed wooden products needed at construction sites in the province, including those of rural dwelling houses.
The Phyongsong Stone Processing Factory has established a quality coloured granite production technology to turn out quality processed stones with bright and even colours.
The Hwadae County Building-materials Factory is turning into a comprehensive building materials producer.
Given that it is the most profitable and promising to produce bricks by using locally-available raw materials in order to lower the dependence on cement and costs and speed up construction, the county built a brick production process relying on such materials, thus providing a solid foundation conducive to regional development.
The Munchon Steel Works has built a reduced iron production process relying on locally-available raw materials and resources and produced a large number of reinforcing bars to send them to construction sites in the province.
Jongphyong County has dynamically pressed ahead with the construction of rural dwelling houses by positively using stone resources of its region and producing and supplying furniture board, colour mortar, sanitary ware and others with its own effort.
Riwon County has mass-produced quality building parts by expanding the metal fittings production capacity while intensifying the drive to tap latent reserves and stepping up the readjustment and reinforcement of the finishing materials production process.
As finishing building materials production bases have been built or renovated in provinces, cities and counties, material and technical foundations are being laid to build mountainous, plain and coastal areas in a way that they preserve their local features.
