President Kim Il Sung founded the Down-with-Imperialism Union (DIU) with communists of the new era on October 17, 1926. It was the start of the struggle for founding the Juche-oriented revolutionary party, a party of new type in our country.
DIU was a genuine revolutionary organization of the leader, the most revolutionary and militant vanguard organization, the first one in the history of our country.
DIU was the revolutionary organization which formed a single-hearted organism on the basis of the revolutionary idea of the President upholding the President as the single centre of unity and leadership.
The spirit of loyalty and the spirit of unity based on the monolithic idea and centre were created, the organizational and ideological base for the party founding was strengthened and anti-Japanese armed struggle was dynamically conducted for liberating the country during the course of opening the path of the Korean revolution closely united around President Kim Il Sung.
Independence is the basic principle and basic stand set out by DIU and the invincible banner which has made our people successfully pioneer the destiny of our country and nation.
Thanks to the spirit of independence, our Party has been able to demonstrate its dignity and might as a revolutionary party emerging victorious upholding the banner of independence during the whole course of development from the start of the Party founding.
The popular masses are the masters of the revolution and construction and they have the strength to propel the revolution and construction. This was the steadfast view of DIU which upheld the banner of Juche.
The path indicated by the idea of DIU is the way for our eternal victory and the spirit of DIU is the most powerful weapon for invincibility. This is the precious truth recorded in the history of dozens of years following the great Party.
Ever-victorious is the cause of our Party which is steadily inheriting the spirit of DIU shining in the first page of the sacred history of our Party founding.
