Pyongyang, October 28 (KCNA) -- In the Unjong science area of Pyongyang, the capital city of the DPRK, there is the Wisong Scientists Residential District, an outcome of the Workers' Party of Korea's policy of attaching importance to science and talents.
The district has 24 multi-story apartment houses, schools, hospital, neighborhood-serving amenities and other public buildings and parks. It is associated with the guidance of the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un who worked heart and soul to provide the scientists and technicians of the State Academy of Sciences with highly-civilized and better living conditions.
The General Secretary proposed to build a scientists residential district, formed a powerful construction force and visited the construction site to solve all problems arising in the project so that it could be completed on the highest level in a short span of time.
He personally named the district "Wisong Scientists Residential District" and gave his field guidance at it one day in October 2014.
He said with satisfaction that all the houses and public buildings in the district were well constructed in an architectural and aesthetic and formative way as required by the new century and the area underwent a sea change in a few months.
The construction of the Wisong Scientists Residential District is aimed at encouraging the scientists to devote themselves to scientific research without any inconvenience, not demonstrating our architectural art, he said, stressing the need to give prominence to scientists, treat them preferentially and always make efforts for them.
The scientists and technicians of the State Academy of Sciences are devoting their wisdom and passion to the economic development of the country and the improvement of the people's standard of living. -0-
