The Contest of Skilled Workers with Different Jobs in Various Sectors of National Economy-2024 closed in the DPRK.
The contest, opened in May, was held at the Kumsong Tractor Factory, the construction site of Tanchon Power Station No. 1 and the construction site of building 10 000 flats at the third stage in the Hwasong area, divided into contests of lathe operators, pipe-makers, welders and plasterers.
At the end of the contest, a sewing competition took place at the Phyongsong School Uniform Factory and the Phyongsong Bag Factory from Oct. 18 to 27. In the competition, a worker of the Phyongsong School Uniform Factory took the first place in the field of school uniform making and a worker of the Phyongsong Bag Factory in the field of school bag making.
A closing ceremony was held on Oct. 28.
Present there were officials of the Ministry of Labour, the Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea (GFTUK), officials in the relevant field and people’s committees of all provinces and working people.
Diplomas, trophies, medals and others were awarded to the participants who proved successful in the sewing competition.
Also, citations of the GFTUK Central Committee were conferred on the groups from Pyongyang Municipality, South Hamgyong and Jagang provinces, the Ministry of Metallurgical Industry, the Pyongyang Construction Commission and North Phyongan Province which proved successful in the contest.
