DPRK player Son Su Rim came first at the 2024 IBA Youth World Boxing Championships held in Montenegro.
The championships brought together more than 590 men and women boxing aces from over 70 countries and regions including the DPRK, China, Kazakhstan and France.
Son Su Rim beat all her opponents in the women's 60kg category event and advanced to the final match. In the final, she defeated a Chinese player 3-2 and won the trophy and gold medal.
Pak Sin A of the DPRK finished runner-up in the women's 63kg category.
Meanwhile, DPRK players Choe Wi Hyon and Ri Phyong Gwang bagged silver medals in the men's 10m platform synchronized diving, Kim Kyong Sim and Ri Hyang Sim in the women's 10m platform synchronized diving and Ri Hyang Sim and Phyo So Yon in the women's 3m springboard synchronized diving at the 11th Asian Diving Championships recently held in China.
Choe Wi Hyon and Ri Hyang Sim were placed third in the men's and women's individual 10 metre platform events respectively.
