Teaching Standard of Modernization

In July, 2016, the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un inspected a combined fishing-tackle factory newly built by the People’s Army.

He expressed satisfaction at the fact that the completion of the splendid comprehensive fishing implements production base with a large capacity provided a sure guarantee for consolidating the foundations of sideline fisheries both materially and technically.

Then he entered the general control room.

After praising that the room was nicely arranged and listening to the explanations about the integrated production system, the respected General Secretary asked about a device of the net production line.

It was a device which detects the broken knot during the net production.

With the introduction of this device by scientists and technicians, the fishing implements output was increased a great deal.

An official of the factory told him that the device was so popular among operators that too many of them asked to install it to their machines.

The respected General Secretary said with a broad smile on his face that equipment modernization can be regarded successful when it is appreciated by the workers and that priority should be given to what is preferred by the workers in modernization, too.

Thus, he thought of the convenience of the workers even when he saw a single piece of equipment.

Looking up to him, the officials hardened their will to become genuine servants of the workers.

What Is More Precious Than Production Result

In summer, 2016, the respected General Secretary visited a factory.

Despite the sultry weather, he made rounds of the factory for a long time.

When he was going to open the door of a workshop, an official told him that there was a strong scent of vinyl chloride gas in there.

Then the respected General Secretary, saying that he must go in there as it was a working place of the workers, entered the workshop.

Though equipped with a ventilator, the workshop was filled with the scent of vinyl chloride gas.

He told the officials wrapped in self-reproach to reinforce ventilating equipment at the workshop out of concern for the workers’ health.

Then he said that what is more precious than high production results is the workers’ health and earnestly requested that more ventilators should be installed within a day or two so that the workers can work amid fresh air.

After the visit of the respected General Secretary, the factory improved the environment of the workshop and installed more ventilators and thus ensured that fresh air always filled the workshop.
