The Korean Central News Agency issued a commentary under the title "'Strengthening of counterattacking ability' is immediately a 'loss of viability.'"

The commentary said.

Getting more undisguised is the Japanese reactionaries' ambition for preemptive attack gravely menacing regional peace and security.

Speaking at a recent formal inspection of the "Self-Defense Forces," the Japanese ruler said Japan will "steadily strengthen its defense capability" with main stress on reinforcement of "counterattacking ability" (enemy base attacking ability).

The "counterattacking ability" he means is a military ability of striking the enemy out of the scope within the reach of latter's attacking ability. It is a clear manifestation of dangerous preemptive attack at other countries.

As soon as he came to power, the Japanese Prime Minister openly manifested his will to steadily strengthen "enemy base attacking ability" just when the regional situation gets evermore dangerous due to the US-Japan-ROK war exercises aimed at the DPRK. It is a clear example showing heated ambition for reinvasion that can never be overlooked.

Japan had created and tried in every way from the mid 1950s to create the public opinion with the groundless legal interpretation that the possession of the "enemy base attacking ability" is a conditional slef-defense. It finally legalized the possession of the "enemy base attacking ability" by describing it as a "counterattacking ability" in the three security-related documents including the newly revised "national security strategy" in December 2022, prompted by crafty trick to mislead the public opinion of the international community.

In the defense whitepaper for 2024 made public in July this year it stipulated that the development of hypersonic long-range missile capacity is the way to possess the "enemy base attacking ability."

As part of its implementation the Japanese Defense Ministry made some time ago a contract amounting to colossal sum of money with the Mitsbishi Heavy Industries Company on developing and manufacturing gliding guided missile for intercepting hypersonic weapons now being promoted with the United States.

Those guided missiles under the guise of "intercepting" are the new-type offensive weapons far surpassing the performance of hypersonic weapons developed so far. Japan nakedly revealed who is the target of its preemptive attack by openly saying that the development of such weapons are to cope with the "threats of neighboring countries."

Japan's calculated attempt to ensure security of its mainland with "preemptive attack" will only make it a common target of the neighboring countries.

Japan must remember that the strengthening of "counterattacking ability" will lead to a loss of its viability, the commentary added.
