Value of Self-reliant Spirit

In January, 2016, the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un inspected the Pyongyang Kim Jong Suk Textile Mill.

Seeing the bag canvas production line established at the textile mill and schoolbags made with the canvas, he expressed great satisfaction saying that it was so nice of them to have built the production line with their own efforts and technology.

He said that they wakened the people seized with proclivity to import by having realized the home production of equipment in laying out the bag canvas production line and that it was so encouraging.

Looking up to him, the officials looked back upon the days when he instilled in the masses enthusiasm for struggle and indomitable mental strength of rising up more passionately in the face of difficulties.

That day, he said that the textile mill held up the banner of domestic production and self-reliance and that the work for domestic production should be done as they did in the textile mill.

He continued that the self-reliant spirit in which they built the bag production line on their own with domestic production as the banner couldn’t be bartered for all the valuables.

Listening to his instructions, the officials realized once again that nothing is impossible and a socialist power desired by the people will be surely built on this land when we hold fast to the spirit of self-reliance as the invincible weapon.

Immutable Faith

In August, 2016, the respected General Secretary made rounds of the acrylic paint production line newly established at the Sunchon Chemical Complex.

When he dropped in at the general control room, he held a scientist who distinguished himself in establishing the production line by the hand.

He said that the integrated production system of the complex consisted of the automatic control system of acrylic monomer production line, the most important in the whole process of acrylic paint production, and the enterprise management IT system, and expressed satisfaction at the fact that the acrylic acid was highly concentrated.

He said in excitement that we must give precedence to science and technology and build an economic giant by dint of science and technology and that the acrylic paint production line was a precious fruit of self-reliance.

He continued that one can achieve the biggest success in spite of any unfavorable conditions if one buckles down with belief in one’s strength, adding that if one believes in one’s own strength, even a thousand miles looks very short, but even a mile looks a very long distance if one believes in others’ efforts and that it is the immutable faith to be possessed of by the Korean revolutionaries fighting their way through the untrodden path.

Indeed, the brilliant reality of our country making dynamic advance and uninterrupted leaps forward and innovations though in difficulties and lack of everything.

Looking up to him, the officials hardened their will to become those with strong self-reliant spirit who make everything with their own efforts and technology better than others.
