Pyongyang, November 28 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun notes in an article on Thursday that a series of events demonstrating the absolute prestige of the DPRK is now being witnessed in bolstering up the national defence capabilities, the steady growth of national economy is maintained and the substantial changes are made in the fields directly-related with the stability of the people's living.
What the DPRK is taking more pride are the width and depth of development, the extensiveness of the targets and speed of advance and the fact that such successes are being made by dint of self-reliance, the article says, and goes on:
Self-reliance is the only fighting spirit that runs through with the whole course of the Korean revolution and the invariable direction of advance and mode of development of the DPRK.
The high dignity and greatness of our state and people are achieved through self-reliance in every way.
There still remain many shortages and difficulties, but we have the tremendous potentiality and foundation to revitalize the country's economy and leap forward to a higher level of development as soon as possible.
Under the wise leadership of the great Workers' Party of Korea, our people are pushing ahead with the gigantic and great tasks which serve as a watershed in the advance for radically developing the socialist cause.
In the period when one whole generation has been replaced by another, we have defended and developed the socialist cause without any slightest vacillation or deviation in the face of countless severe difficulties. This is a clear proof of the truthfulness and vitality of self-reliance.
No matter what road others may take and what method they choose, we have no other road and way but to go self-reliance whose validity and vitality have been clearly proved in the long course of the revolution.
It is the absolute truth taught by the past and the present of the Korean revolution which has recorded only epochal miracles and victories and the firm confidence and faith of our people who are sure of the bright future that we can live well by our own efforts and proudly open up the road of development and prosperity in our own way. -0-
