Soul of Architecture
In June, 2015, the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un inspected a construction site.
Among the issues he underlined that day was to make proper designs.
He said to accompanying officials in the designing field that all the architectural structures on this land are the fruits of designs made by the designing officials and that, the more efforts the designing officials make, the higher the quality of architectural structures get.
Then he organized an emulation of designing units for drawing up the architectural formation plan of a project.
After teaching that the result of the emulation of those units must be evaluated both in political and material ways, he emphasized that design is the soul of architecture.
That day, the designing officials made up their minds to devote all their wisdom and passion to each piece of design, regarding his precious instructions as the lifeline.
Work to Convince People of Their Own Strength
Once, the respected General Secretary gave precious teachings as concerns ensuring home production of building materials.
He stressed the need to decisively localize the production of building materials and continued that building materials comprise a major factor deciding the quality and modernity of architectural structures.
He noted that, as the architectural structures have direct visual effect on the people, people can become confident that they can build wonderful structures with their own efforts if they are willing to do so only when lots of building materials are produced on a home basis and are applied in construction.
He earnestly emphasized that the work to localize the production of building materials is an undertaking to convince people of their own strength as well as the one to develop the construction sector.
Looking round the accompanying officials, he requested that they should correctly understand why the Party adds so much importance to the issue of raising the proportion of domestically-produced building materials.
Keeping his earnest request in their hearts, the officials hardened their will to massively produce quality building materials with our own resources and technology, mindful of the importance of home production of building materials.
