One day in October 1957, President Kim Il Sung visited a middle school and went round various parts of it.
He met teachers to learn about their work and living conditions and asked them if they were conducting information work in rural areas.
Looking at them with no answer, he said that it was the most honorable revolutionary task for them to educate peasants.
He added that he had experienced the teacher’s life in need of undercover operation in the past, and stressed that it is an important task of the teachers in local areas at present to educate the peasants in the Party’s policies well and teach agricultural techniques well.
He said that the teachers at rural schools should not only teach the students well but also give to the peasants lectures on the Party's policies such as the one on using mountains, mindful that education is not a mere job but a revolutionary task.
Upon receiving the instructions of the President, the teachers keenly realized once again the importance of their duty. -0-
