Officials and researchers of the Electric Power Information Institute under the Ministry of Electric Power Industry have made valuable research findings conducive to putting the power management on an IT footing.
The institute introduced a digital transmission line protection device and a new system with high accuracy of power system protection and accident analysis into major points, improving safety of the system.
It updated the program basis of the power geographic information system and studied and applied the proposals for rearranging power transmission and supply, thereby reducing the loss of power in transmission.
It also developed real-time current calculation program and established a system of assessing the operation of power management technical devices in a quantitative way to put the control of the system on a highly scientific basis.
The researchers established a new system for putting the power consumption norm and its execution and regional statistics of all units on an IT basis and introduced it into the power distribution stations across the country, laying a foundation for supplying electric power in more rational way.
They also established an economic calculation system by business edition capable of grasping, analyzing and predicting the management of the Ministry of Electric Power Industry, power stations and provincial power distribution stations.
