The Pyongyang Baby Home and Pyongyang Orphanage located on the picturesque Taedong riverside are the homes of happiness where the dreams of orphaned children are fulfilled.
On his visit to the completed childcare facilities in October 2014, General Secretary Kim Jong Un said that as the children came to be provided with the best homes, he was very pleased as if he plucked a star in the sky and earnestly requested their nurses and teachers to enhance their responsibility and role in bringing them up well.
The happy laughter of children continues to resound at the children’s homes provided with splendid conditions for the upbringing and education of them.
The comprehensive storehouse reminds viewers of a department store for children as it is packed with all kinds of supplies for the growth and living of the children, ranging from warm quilts and blankets to clothes, shoes, meat, fish, fruits, honey, confectionery and other foods.
Choe Jong Sil, directress of the Pyongyang Baby Home, said that materials were supplied for the children on a regular basis even in the period of top emergency anti-epidemic campaign which was conducted to cope with the worldwide malignant virus.
Every wardrobe, shoe chest and bookcase of children are filled with seasonal clothes, underwear, pretty shoes, “Mindulle” notebooks and other excellent school things and nutritious foods are served at every meal.
True to the intention of the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un, who said that heroes and PhDs should be produced from among the orphaned children, nurses and teachers devote their wisdom and passion to the education and edification of the children.
Thanks to the policy of love for younger generations of the Workers’ Party of Korea, which pours more love on children at the time of hardship and advances persistently toward the future of communism on the strength of love, the song We Are the Happiest in the World sung by children continues to ring out from the childcare facilities in Pyongyang.
