Pyongyang, January 14 (KCNA) -- Enlarged plenary meetings of Pyongyang municipal and provincial committees of the Workers' Party of Korea took place to implement the decisions of the Eleventh Plenary Meeting of the Eighth WPK Central Committee.

The meetings were guided by members of the Presidium and members and alternate members of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee.

Present there were members and alternate members of the provincial committees of the WPK and, as observers, officials of Party and power organs and administrative and economic bodies in the relevant regions.

The meetings comprehensively analyzed and reviewed the work of the relevant regions for thoroughly implementing the important tasks set forth at the plenary meetings of the Party Central Committee last year, and discussed and decided on the measures for correctly and perfectly carrying out this year's tasks on the basis of the orientation of struggle set forth at the Eleventh Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK.

They analyzed and reviewed the successes and experience, made in the implementation of the Party decisions by the provincial Party committees last year, as well as the shortcomings and lessons.

They also referred in detail to the tasks and ways for the provincial Party committees to successfully attain the goals for the five-year plan by enhancing their functions and role in every way.

They stressed the importance of the issue for making the valuable results of the regional development policy, provided under the energetic guidance of the Party Central Committee, prove effective from the first year and, at the same time, pushing ahead with the implementation of the programme for the rural revolution in the new era including the rural housing construction.

The meetings discussed measures to fully satisfy the qualitative and quantitative demands for consumer goods badly needed for the people's living and consistently and substantially implement the socialist policy for the children and students by regarding it as the first task to put the production at regional-industry factories and enterprises on a normal track and improve the quality of products.

They stressed the need for all Party organizations to do their best to supply school things and supplies and equipment and materials for education, to dynamically push forward with the project for modernizing schools planned for this year, to improve the qualifications of educators and the quality of basic education, and to continue to increase the enthusiasm for supporting the educational sector, true to the plan and intention of the Party Central Committee to get the DPRK recognized as a country which gives the greatest importance to education and which is most advanced in education in the world.

They also indicated the ways for further improving the land and urban management and establishing a well-regulated crisis control system to definitely enhance the disaster prevention capability of relevant regions.

The meetings raised the principled matters that the provincial Party committees and Party organizations at all levels should adhere to in actively arousing the Party members and other working people to the implementation of the decisions of the Party Congress while expanding the valuable experience they gained in last year's struggle and strictly overcoming the deviations.

The plenary meeting of the Pyongyang Municipal Committee of the WPK underscored the need for Pyongyang, the capital city of our dignified state, to create exemplary successes and excellent experience in all fields of politics, economy and culture and to make the Party members and other working people fulfill their duty as citizens of the capital city in splendidly glorifying the 80th birthday of the WPK and the 80th anniversary of national liberation as the grand political festivals of victory and glory.

The plenary meetings of South Phyongan and North and South Hamgyong provincial and Nampho municipal Party committees were held amid the revolutionary enthusiasm of the participants to concentrate all their efforts on attaining the important goals set forth at the plenary meeting of the WPK Central Committee so as to push forward with the comprehensive economic development and thoroughly carry out the readjustment and reinforcement plans and thus successfully implement the decisions of the Eighth Congress of the WPK.

The plenary meetings of North and South Hwanghae provincial Party committees discussed in depth the issues of making good preparations for this year's farming, on the basis of scientific analysis of the successes, experience and lessons gained in last year's farming, doing all farm works on a more scientific basis and steadily increasing the agricultural workers' zeal for production and thus ensuring the Party's agricultural policy with increased grain production.

The plenary meeting of the North Phyongan Provincial Committee of the WPK showed the strong desire to repay the loving care and benevolence with loyalty and patriotism and with dynamic creation and innovation, always cherishing the revolutionary struggle of 2024 to be specially recorded in the history of the WPK's people-first politics.

The plenary meetings of Jagang, Kangwon and Ryanggang provincial and Rason and Kaesong municipal committees of the WPK, too, indicated the ways of key importance in preserving regional features in the development of regional economy and bettering the people's living standards, true to the idea and spirit of the plenary meeting of the Party Central Committee.

Speeches were made at the plenary meetings.

At the plenary meetings, there were sectional consultative meetings to confirm the detailed goals for regions and units and work out plans for attaining them, on the basis of the important tasks and fighting strategy set forth at the Eleventh Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK.

Adopted at the meetings with unanimous approval were decisions drawn up on the premise of the participants' strong enthusiasm to faithfully discharge their responsibility and duty in this year's crucial struggle for the successful fulfillment of the five-year plan and of clear practical guarantee. -0-
