Pyongyang, January 14 (KCNA) -- True to the decisions of the Eleventh Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, the public health sector of the DPRK takes innovative measures to improve the quality of medical service and strengthen the material and technical foundations.
Officials of the Ministry of Public Health and relevant units have deeply studied and discussed constructive proposals for improving the preventive and curative medical care, putting the medical service on a more scientific and modern basis and strengthening the foundation of public health.
More concrete plans are being worked out to introduce the first-aid command system Kugup 1.0 into the medical service at terminal curative and preventive institutions in all provinces, cities and counties and provide perfect telemedicine conditions for them and thus improve the level of medical service.
Steps are taken to ensure that curative and preventive institutions at all levels dispatch medical service teams consisting of competent health workers to major industrial establishments in the key industrial sector and relevant regions and that technical guidance is given to those field medical workers.
Proposals are being made to consolidate the material and technical foundations of the public health sector.
Substantial measures are taken to supply raw and other materials and medicinal herbs to pharmaceutical factories, Koryo medicine pharmaceutical factories and medical appliances factories, increase the variety of medicines and produce enough medical appliances and equipment and medical supplies.
Practical projects are worked out to prevent in advance the outbreak and spread of various infectious diseases and make all provinces, cities and counties stockpile medical supplies and thus further strengthen the country's anti-epidemic foundation. -0-
