Pyongyang, January 17 (KCNA) -- The present world is more eager for peace and stability than ever before as it has witnessed ceaseless bloody massacres and wars.

But the desire of mankind is being trampled underfoot by the U.S., the worst war state.

Shortly ago, the U.S. adopted the "national defense authorization act for fiscal 2025" envisaging the largest-ever defence budget, an increase of 8.9 billion U.S. dollars over last year's.

No one in the world believes the U.S. poor explanation that it is for the "defence of its territory" and for "countering the hostile forces the world over".

The U.S. military spending accounts for 40 percent of the total world military expenditure and is larger than the military spending of ten countries in the next rankings all put together.

Its amount will be beyond imagination, if unannounced funds, which are spent in military affairs under various pretexts, are calculated in addition to the defence expenses publicly announced by the government.

It is worth noting that such frantic arms buildup is being made in the U.S., which is not a very rich country but a "state with the largest debt" that has reached more than $35 trillion in astronomical figures.

This is neither the spending for defence nor the money for the world peace.

The U.S. is spending military funds lavishly on inciting and carrying out war, conflicts, confusion and slaughter in different parts of the world, not on defending itself, as it did in the past.

Despite the denunciation and rejection at home and abroad, it has rendered huge military aid to the Israeli murderers and Ukrainian military gangsters year after year to prolong the wars and incite bloody killings. This is the reality.

The world clearly knows how many innocent children and other people are deprived of their lives, hope and living space by the U.S. lethal weapons and how much money the U.S. arms industries are making at the cost of their blood and pain.

The U.S. has ceaselessly deployed its ultra-modern military hardware and strategic assets in the Korean peninsula and other parts of Asia-Pacific, as well as in Europe and the Middle East, sparking off a vicious cycle of tensions and arms race.

The chaotic world and worldwide upheaval are the aftermath of the U.S. persistent arms buildup.

The U.S., which emerged and has existed through aggression and massacre, is desperately spending funds on the military field, despite its worst debt crisis ever in history, to gratify its ambition for dominating the whole world by upper-hand in strength and to retain its collapsing dominant position as the "only superpower" in the world.

It is as clear as noonday that such increased military spending for this year will be directed to further escalating the danger of military conflict in the Korean peninsula and the region when the fact that the U.S. is the most reactionary state entity regarding anti-communism as an invariable state policy is taken into account.

To cope with the outrageous moves of the U.S. challenging the desire of mankind for peace and bringing instability to the world, the DPRK will further step up the bolstering of the powerful military capability for self-defence, a basic guarantee for defending the people and sovereignty, and continue to achieve great successes this year, too. -0-
