This year marks the centenary of the 1 000-ri Journey for National Liberation made by President Kim Il Sung (January 22 1925).
The President trekked the rugged path of 1 000-ri in his teens with a firm determination not to return home before winning back the lost country. It makes us feel his great ambition and resolution and we feel heartfelt gratitude to the President as we think that the day brought us today of our country.
This year we also celebrate the 50th anniversary of the start of study tour of the 1 000-ri Journey for National Liberation organized by Chairman Kim Jong Il.
Over the past 50 years the study tour of the 1 000-ri Journey for National Liberation of schoolchildren from across the country has become a tradition of the youth league.
Trekking along the route of the 1 000-ri journey, our schoolchildren come to know their leader, experience how precious their country is and make up their mind to grow up to be pillars of the future.
This year, too, schoolchildren from across the country are making a study tour of the 1 000-ri Journey for National Liberation on the occasion of the centenary of the 1 000-ri Journey for National Liberation made by President Kim Il Sung and the 50th anniversary of the study tour of the 1 000-ri Journey for National Liberation organized by Chairman Kim Jong Il.
The Workers’ Party of Korea has great trust and expectations and shows immense love and care for the schoolchildren, the future of the country.
The respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un saw that the Korean Children’s Union meetings were organized on a large scale and had photo sessions with schoolchildren so that the hope-filled New Year would begin with their bright laughter. He also pays close attention to the building of schools and supply of textbooks and school things as well as school uniforms and shoes.
Encouraged by such a great love, our schoolchildren begin to think of, value and try to do something for the organization, the collective and the country before anything else, I think.
They will continue the 1 000-ri journey for the country made by the President forever, following the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un.
