Rodong Sinmun Calls for Creating New Standards and Records in Each Economic Sector and Unit

Pyongyang, January 28 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun on Tuesday says in an editorial that today's worthwhile struggle for victoriously concluding the final year for the implementation of the Five-Year Plan and bringing about an upward trend towards a higher development stage requires all sectors and units to intensify the movement for creating new standards and records.

It is the revolutionary spirit and the working mettle peculiar to our people to steadily challenge new things, transcend the limitation and continuously create new standards and records, the editorial says, adding:

The movement for creating new standards and records is a mass innovation movement to produce and build more, faster and better with less manpower and materials and existing equipment by giving the fullest play to the revolutionary enthusiasm and creative ingenuity of the masses in production and construction.

When time goes by with rapid progress and innovation at each worksite of socialist construction and new standards and records are created everywhere, our Party's plan and decision to usher in a new era of overall national prosperity will be translated into wonderful fruition.

Now, the torch of miraculous increased production, held aloft by the workers of the Sangwon Cement Complex on an outpost for grand socialist construction, has spread like a prairie fire to the whole country so as to remarkably inspire the enthusiasm for revolution, struggle and patriotic efforts among the masses out in the implementation of the decisions of the Eleventh Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.

It is the ardent desire of all the people to defend the 80th founding anniversary of the WPK and its congress and make great transformation and vigorous advance in all aspects of socialist construction by courageously braving the hardships and difficulties through fresh innovations, bold creation and steady advance and continuously creating new standards and records to successfully carry out the Five-Year Plan.

Let us all perform eye-opening miracles and proud feats in the ongoing general advance for successfully attaining the goals set forth by the Eighth Party Congress and surely guaranteeing the transition of new development stage, the upward stage through the intensified movement to create new standards and records. -0-
