The embassy of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in China hosted a New Year party for 2025 on the 26th.
Invited to the party were Zhang Qingwei, Vice-Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Chinese National People's Congress, and officials of institutions concerned including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the International Liaison Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Central Military Commission, the Supreme People's Procuratorate, the Ministry of National Defence, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.
Present there were Ri Ryong Nam, ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the DPRK to China, and staff members of his embassy.
Speeches were made at the party.
Ambassador Ri Ryong Nam expressed his will to make joint efforts with the Chinese comrades to strengthen and develop the DPRK-China friendship in keeping with the noble intention of the leaders of the two parties and two countries and the aspiration and desire of the peoples.
He hoped that the Chinese people would achieve new successes in the struggle of this year to promote the modernization of Chinese style under the leadership of the Communist Party.
Vice-Chairman Zhang Qingwei expressed his willingness to creditably defend, consolidate and develop the Sino-Korean friendship by strengthening the strategic communication and making close cooperation on the international arena with the common understanding reached by the top leaders of the two parties and two countries as a guideline.
He sincerely wished the Korean people to thoroughly implement the decisions of the Eighth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea and the plenary meetings of its central committee, firmly united behind the Party headed by General Secretary Kim Jong Un, and thus open a new phase of socialist construction.
