Haeju City has a watch mender who enjoys love and respect among its citizens. He is Jo Yong Hwan, a worker of the Haeju City Public Service Station.
He has worked sincerely for dozens of years to promote the convenience of the citizens.
When he was young, an unexpected accident left him disabled. His parents were worried a lot about his future. But it was an idle fear.
The country provided him with new school uniform and things like other children and made sure that he could learn to his heart’s content.
He became the center of attention for a single reason for the disabled. He would often forget the fact that he is a disabled. Graduating from a middle school, he began his working life. As time passed by, he met a companion for life and formed a new family.
Afterwards, the country let his two children learn at the university.
Feeling the benevolence bestowed upon his family, he made a firm pledge to repay the country by performing more good deeds for people.
He made efforts to raise his skill out of viewpoint that the more he knows, the better he can serve people.
Looking at the people pleased at the mended watches, he felt the uncommon pride of being a servant of people.
The motherland highly appreciated his devoted service for people and awarded high state commendations and Model Worker Honor Prize to him.
Therefore, people, through his laudable life, keenly realize once again the superiority of the socialist system which provides everybody on this land with all kinds of glory and happiness including hope and ambition, worth and pride of labor.
