From Jan. 22 to Feb. 3, the march to trace the course of the 250-mile Journey for National Liberation was held on the occasion of the centenary of the Journey made by the great leader Generalissimo Kim Il Sung and the 50th anniversary of the great leader Generalissimo Kim Jong Il’s first expedition along this route.
A thousand of schoolchildren from across the country took part in the expedition.
Among them were students who participated in the Ninth Congress of the Korean Children’s Union and had a photo taken with the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un and were students who were famed for their good deeds for the country and were students from Mangyongdae Revolutionary School and schools in the forefront area.
During the expedition, the participants, thinking of anti-Japanese guerrillas, gave recreation parties and aroused through the schoolchildren’s art squad activities the working people of factories and enterprises in Huichon City to the campaign for carrying out the decisions of the 11th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Party Central Committee.
And they cultivated the collective spirit and enhanced the sense of organization as well as independence through writing of consolatory letters, the meeting to hear impressions of the reminiscences of anti-Japanese guerrillas, the meeting to tell of pride in their native places, oratorical meetings and sketch presentations.
They felt the breathing of the motherland which is being face-lifted under the care of great Party while seeing the picturesque villages which were built in a new era of comprehensive national rejuvenation and factories and farms seething with campaigns for carrying out the decisions of the plenary meeting of the Party Central Committee.
The expedition serves as an occasion of bringing up our schoolchildren to be successors to the revolutionary cause who keep in mind the greatness of the leader and his immortal exploits and possess the noble spirit of devoting their all for the sake of the motherland.
