With Attitude of Being Masters

Visitors to the Phyongchon Daily Necessities Factory admire at the factory which has been face-lifted beyond recognition.

A cozy resting place for its employees, cattle sheds, cultural and welfare facilities, etc.

All those are a fruition brought by the employees with selfless support from officials of Pyongyang Municipality and Phyongchon District.

It is surely a notable success that the factory has been renewed. But more precious than that, the employees renewed their work attitude befitting masters of the factory.

Once, the head of the sack production workteam happened to meet his workteam member on the way home.

The workteam member was waiting for the head to discuss the method for increasing labor productivity which he had thought up.

Though nobody asked him to do it, he did work of his own choice first thinking of the factory and the workteam. And his devotion which contributed to overfulfillment of its production plan impressed the workteam head.

Such stories can be heard in other wortkeams of the factory.

Seeing their face-lifted working place, the employees of the factory say:

The renewed factory makes us work with greater enthusiasm.

Devotion to Home Village

In the Phochon Farm of Hoeyang County, there are persons who devote their all to the work for turning their home village into a place good to live in, in spite of their retirement.

All the officials and farmers of the farm respect those members of the workteam composed of the old.

Nobody would blame them for their rest at home, but they dedicated themselves with patriotic mind to the farm work.

Some days ago, they voluntarily prepared materials badly needed for this year’s farming, though nobody asked them to do it.

With mind of being masters of the home village, they all made efforts to contribute to farm work regardless of the old age.

This year, they again voluntarily took charge of dozens of hectares of low-yielding fields and now are busy with the work for producing self-sufficing manures for the fields.

When the others persuade them to live in comfort for the rest of their days, they would say:

The consciousness that we are also masters of the village encourages us to devote ourselves to farm work for our home village.

Fruit of Unanimous Aspiration

Not long ago, the general repairs shop of the Hamhung Construction Machine Plant conducted the remodeling and repair project of buildings.

One day, Han Jin, head of the shop, passed by the worksite and heard the employees saying that they were running out of necessary materials for the project and that it would be difficult to finish it by the appointed date.

That moment, he felt remorseful for having stayed indifferent to the project, attaching importance to the current production alone.

He decided to finish the project in time on a qualitative basis at any cost and made painstaking efforts to secure lots of materials on his own.

The employees were also touched by his devotion and turned all out to accelerate the project.

Thanks to their unanimous aspiration to devote their all to the future of the factory, the project ended in a success.

They are still doing their best to establish modern production processes and cultured practice in life.
