Pyongyang, February 12 (KCNA) -- Those sportspersons, who fully demonstrated the dignity and might of Juche Korea in international and domestic games and contributed to the development of the country's sports technique last year, have been selected as the 10 best players and the 10 best coaches of the DPRK for 2024.
The 10 best players are Choe Il Son, a footballer of the April 25 Players Team, Jon Il Chong, a footballer of the Amnokgang Sports Club, Kang Hyon Gyong, a weightlifter of the Amnokgang Sports Club, Kim Il Gyong, a weightlifter of the April 25 Combat Sports Team, Ri Song Gum, a weightlifter of the April 25 Combat Sports Team, Jo Jin Mi, a diver of the Sobaeksu Players Team, Kim Mi Rae, a diver of the Pyongyang Sports Club, Kim Kum Yong, a table-tennis player of the Hwaebul Sports Club, Ri Jong Sik, a table-tennis player of the Amnokgang Sports Club, and Wang Myong Guk, a Taekwon-Do player of the Ryongaksan Taekwon-Do Players Team.
The 10 best coaches are Ri Song Ho, a coach of the Wolmido Football Team, Song Sung Gwon, chief coach of the Naegohyang Women's Football Players Team, Ri Song Hui, a weightlifting coach of the Amnokgang Sports Club, So Un Hak, a weightlifting coach of the April 25 Combat Sports Team, Kye Song Il, a weightlifting coach of the April 25 Combat Sports Team, Sin Jong Rim, a diving coach of the Sobaeksu Players Team, Kim Yun Mi, a table-tennis coach of the Hwaebul Sports Club, Kang Hyong Rak, a table-tennis coach of the Amnokgang Sports Club, Ri Chol Rim, a Taekwon-Do coach of the Ryongaksan Taekwon-Do Players Team, and Kim Mun Il, chief greco-roman coach of the April 25 Combat Sports Team.
A meeting took place at the Weightlifting Gymnasium in Chongchun Street here on February 11 to announce the 10 best players and the 10 best coaches of the DPRK for 2024.
Present there were Kim Myong Hun, vice-premier of the Cabinet, Kim Il Guk, minister of Physical Culture and Sports, Kim Myong Gun, chairman of the Korean Taekwon-Do Committee, officials concerned and sportspersons.
The 10 best players and 10 best coaches of the DPRK for 2024 were announced at the meeting.
The vice-premier of the Cabinet awarded to the sportspersons, selected as 10 best players and 10 best coaches, the certificates and sportswear inscribed with the letters reading "DPRK's 10 Best Players for 2024" and "DPRK's 10 Best Coaches for 2024".
At the end of the meeting, a performance was given to congratulate the said players and coaches. -0-
