Mountains and fields, streets and villages are still adorned with white snow.

Korean people, however, appreciatively inhale the warm fragrance of the season by this time of the year – February – their hearts filled with joy at the coming spring.

Since when, then, have our people cherished February as the month of spring and jubilation and that of hope and confidence?

It was eighty-three years ago from now when the advent of the Shining Star on Mt. Paektu marked an auspicious event in the history of our nation ensuring continuity of Korean revolution and promising a rosy future for the country and nation.

Born of guerrilla fighters, Chairman Kim Jong Il learned to share his destiny with that of the Korean revolution through his first-hand experience of two revolutionary wars and a post-war rehabilitation. During the course, he also set up the noble ideal and firm determination to build our country into a formidable socialist power that no one would dare to provoke.

He was a benevolent father who brought about happiness, laughter and eternal spring to this land with his ardent love and self-sacrifice for the people throughout his revolutionary leadership till the very last moment of his life.

It is therefore that our people sing in praise of February, the month when we greet the birthday of Chairman Kim Jong Il , as the month heralding spring, warm and joyful.

Under the warm care of respected Comrade Kim Jong Un , the happy month of February is now being cherished by our people as the spring season of happiness generation after generation.

Out of the earnest desire to build our country, the patriotic legacy left by the peerlessly great leaders, into an affluent socialist power where people live with nothing to envy in the world, respected Comrade Kim Jong Un gives field guidance to every part of the country all the year round - three hundred and sixty-five days in a row.

The very start and end of each year are associated with an undertaking to realize the centuries-old desire of the people and a public welfare project respectively. The scope of his dedication for people is literally boundless.

He recently participated in the ceremony to mark the start of the construction of the Kangdong County hospital and leisure complex and solemnly declared the commencement of the grand construction campaign in the year 2025 for the implementation of the Regional Development 20×10 Policy.

The international community advocate that the experiences gained by the DPRK deserve to be shared, expressing their amazement at the might of our Republic gaining remarkable successes in the fields of politics, the economy, culture, national defense and others, braving trials and hardships of all hues on their own.

As is praised by the international community, with respected Comrade Kim Jong Un in high esteem, February in this country will be regarded forever as the blossoming warm spring.
